Complete Custom OEM Camera Configurations
The SV022 camera on the right is an example of a custom camera EPIX, Inc. developed for a programmable logic device manufacturer who needed a low cost, RoHS compatible camera for their video development kit. The emphasis was on low cost, so the SV022 has a plastic case, M12 lens, and a 2 layer PCB with all components on one side, and all components are surface mount. In 1000 piece quantity the SV022 sells for $100 including the lens. A plastic case also has the added benefit of making the camera lighter. Using our machined aluminum case would double the price, but when you need a C-mount lens, a plastic case is not rigid enough. A Kevlar case would keep the weight down, but would not be as cost effective. In design is a smaller plastic cased camera and a PCI Express support board for 4 of the cameras.
